At-Home Treatments to Reduce Stress

At-Home Treatments to Reduce Stress

Sometimes I wonder whether I have a short memory or whether all the upheavals we've been living through since March 2020 really existed long before. It seems to me that one event barely ends before the next begins: pandemic, war, inflation, increasingly striking evidence of climate change, storms leading to power outages, shootings.

Is it only access to real-time information that is changing my perception? Should I go on a media diet and allow myself access to regional and world news for only 5 minutes a day? What should I do about social media?

It's true that I believe that "what I put my attention on expands" (François Lemay). I consciously choose, several times a day, to put my attention on the beautiful and good things that surround me and make up our world. Why? Because it exponentially lowers my stress level.

I also try to focus on the present moment, the only real moment there is. I often give thanks several times in the same day even if only for a nice conversation, a lovely smile (now we can see them), a client happy with her skin (I'm so grateful for that), a good meal, the beauty of nature, etc. There is so much beauty around us. It helps me notice it when I stop to appreciate it.

One of my favourite anti-stress routines is the following:

Womens delicate legs in white, fluffy foam in the bathroom. The girl takes a bath. Relaxing weekend

  • And I bring myself a nice hot cup of herbal tea made with the STR-J herbal blend, which combines chamomile and passionflower, two plants that calm the nervous system.

  • Sometimes I put on music that makes me feel good, often instrumental, like Alexandra Stréliski.

This routine helps me unplug from the whirlwind of my days and give myself a moment just for me that combines well-being with inner and outer beauty. If I still feel a little agitated inside, I take the supplement Zérénité which is finally back, to calm me a little more.

It works every time. It's my winning formula, which I invite you to try or add to your own. If you'd like to share yours with me, I'd really love that.
