How to Prevent or Correct Aging?

More and more studies on skin aging confirm this and warn us about the harmful effects of the sun, free radicals, STRESS (yes, that famous friend who is essential, but harmful when excessive), pollution and medications on our skin. Whatever we say and whatever we do, it is sometimes hard to avoid one or more of the causes listed above. However, there are ways to prevent aging and even corrective solutions once the signs of aging have set in.
How to prevent aging?
There are antioxidants, those little soldiers that defend the body against free radicals. For the skin, as for the body in general, vitamin C is an excellent protective antioxidant that, in a way, keeps us from rusting. Pigmentation spots are a kind of rust that begins internally and gradually rises to the surface until it becomes visible on the skin. By using vitamin C, you delay and even stop the appearance of these unsightly spots.
What's more, vitamin C helps increase collagen production. This protein is naturally produced by the body, but becomes scarcer as we age. It is very important for all our connective (supporting) tissues, including the skin: collagen keeps it from sagging, allows it to absorb water more easily and helps it regenerate.

There are also AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) which are mainly used to exfoliate, but which can also promote collagen and blood circulation, correct the discolouration of scars and age spots, improve the appearance of surface lines and wrinkles, prevent acne breakouts, brighten the complexion and increase product absorption.

How to repair skin damage?
Found in abundance throughout the body, growth factors are large proteins that float between cells, communicating crucial messages relevant to the growth, healing and survival of our system. These signals weaken with age, which causes a stiffening of the fibres, leading to the appearance of lines and wrinkles. When applied to the skin regularly over several weeks, these growth factors act as a kind of ‘’replacement therapy’’ and restore all the normal signals that support healthy skin, like when we were young.

Two other well-loved products for skin rejuvenation are hyaluronic acid and peptides. Let's describe them: hyaluronic acid is a powerful skincare ingredient. This acid deeply hydrates the skin and helps reduce the visible signs of aging.
Peptides are amino acids that make up certain proteins the skin needs, including collagen, which is made up of 3 polypeptide chains. So adding peptides stimulates collagen production which, as written above, helps keep the skin firmer and younger.
